The Lola Zen Project Inc. is a community-rooted nonprofit built around curiosity, culture, and connection.
We create spaces where people of all ages can explore ideas, learn new skills, share stories, and discover what sparks their curiosity. Through hands-on workshops, cultural experiences, community events, creative learning, and skill sharing, we bring people together to learn from one another.
From exploring symbols, patterns, and ancient systems of knowledge to sharing hobbies, traditions, life stories, practical skills, and new ideas, our programs encourage people to ask questions, make connections, and participate—not just observe.
Come curious. Learn something. Share something. Meet someone.
Our goal is simple: create community spaces where people can participate, connect, and eventually give back by sharing what they know with others.
Founded by husband-and-wife team Orlando Prevot and Liz Prevot, the Lola Zen Project brings together different ways of learning, questioning, creating, and sharing knowledge.
Orlando| Engineer Education Facilitator
Orlando, an engineer, martial artist, instructor, and lifelong hobbyist, brings a hands-on approach to curiosity and STEM education. Through the Curiosity Arcade, hobbies, demonstrations, games, and community activities, he explores the engineering and science hiding inside everyday interests—from how things are built and move to the problem-solving behind technology, mechanics, and play.
His approach is simple: STEM doesn’t have to start in a classroom. Sometimes it starts with a hobby, a question, or taking something apart to figure out how it works.

Liz | Death Doula Education Facilitator
Liz is a death doula educator and workshop facilitator who creates approachable ways to explore mortality, legacy, symbolism, and the stories we leave behind.
Through Life & Legacy Heirloom Binder workshops, participants explore end-of-life wishes while preserving the personal pieces that make a life meaningful—family stories, photographs, recipes, traditions, important documents, and letters for loved ones. The goal is to make conversations about death something we can have in community and before a crisis, rather than only when difficult decisions have to be made.
Liz also develops Symbol Lab, an interdisciplinary workshop cohort exploring Tarot, Astrology, and Numerology through pattern recognition, guided imagery, history, mythology, numbers, visual symbolism, and systems thinking. Rather than focusing on prediction, participants investigate how humans have used symbols and patterns to understand ideas and organize knowledge across cultures and generations.
Her work is grounded in a simple question:
What can we learn about being human when we become curious about the systems, stories, symbols, and legacies we inherit—and what we choose to leave behind?

Meet our Board & Faculty
Shaun Lowry
Faculty Lead for Home Skill Share
Shaun is a licensed electrician with lots of martial arts experience. From Tai chi, Shotokan, Chin Na, to Wing Chun, he brings life experience and skill to our project. Shaun brings firsthand understanding of building projects and showcasing their abilities. He holds a Black Belt in Martial arts. Shaun also volunteers with navigating projects like electrical installation workshops. He will provide strategic planning for his skill share as a faculty lead.
